Hub Healthy Connections will host Luncheon & Learn: Navigating a Healthy Pregnancy for Mom and Baby, Wednesday, July 15 11:30am to 1pm at Cotton Blues featuring Dr. Marie D. Darby, Maternal Fetal Specialist with Hattiesburg Clinic. Dr. Darby will debunk common myths about pregnancy risks and discuss high risk pregnancies and why a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist is necessary.
Tickets are $12, if you preregister online, and $14 at the door; lunch is included.
Maternal Fetal Medicine is a specialty of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB-GYN) that works with OB-GYN providers to focus on managing high-risk pregnancies. As a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, Dr. Darby has received special training in the assessment and management of high-risk pregnancies. This additional training allows Dr. Darby to provide care for women with issues deemed to be high risk to the mother or child; including, but not limited to heart or kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes and multiple babies.
Dr. Darby earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, La, 2007. She served her internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., 2007 to 20011, where she also served a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Darby is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Hub Healthy Connections has partnered with local medical providers and businesses to offer a monthly luncheon to the public. The series of luncheons will cover a variety of health-care topics presented by local medical practitioners.
